As I discussed in my previous post on Driving In Assam, I endeavor to provide an impression of what the places I visit are really like. For me, that often means focusing on daily life. The Meghalaya Plateau was called the “Scotland of the East” by the British and landscapes such as the one below make it easy to understand why:
The plateau drops off quite sharply to the plains of Bangladesh (in this case) or Assam (on the other side):
