One evening while taking a very long walk along the Sinai coast of the Red Sea, we came across these Bedouins making tea along the beach. What was remarkable was that we were miles from any sign of civilization – it was as if these Bedouins had just materialized out of the desert like phantoms:
Naturally, they were tremendously friendly and despite the language barrier, invited us to join them. Ordinarily, I would not have hesitated to join them for tea, but we were many miles from where we were staying and as it was, we still got back well after dark:
I found the whole scene to be extraordinary and the setting to be beautiful.
