The title of this post channels George Orwell and is a commentary on the picture below:
The picture was taken just outside of the airport in Pyongyang, North Korea. Readers are no doubt familiar with the poverty found in North Korea, but despite this and despite North Korea being a communist country, the North Korean “powers that be” take care of themselves just as well as the powers that be in other countries do.
The driver of the car was in a military uniform and the man that was whisked into the waiting car (he was actually sitting behind me on the flight in) was wearing civilian clothing (a well-fitted suit) and had several shopping bags of luxury products in his hands.
So much for equality. It seems that there’s one rule for the Kim regime and another for everyone else.
